Paul Spafford has carved out a niche, making himself known for his personal brand of minimalist acoustic blues on instruments unconventional to the genre. Despite specializing in mandolin, he has honed his skills on five-string, Irish, tenor, and plectrum banjo, as well as Irish bouzouki and the occasional lap-style slide guitar. According to Paul, "You don't need to play guitar to have the blues."

When developing his repertoire, Paul walks the fence between replication and interpretation, sometimes remaining true to the original recordings while often developing a completely new arrangement. Regardless of his route taken, he promises and consistently delivers a performance packed with feeling. Paul uses his instruments as more than just accompaniment, but as an extra voice to carry his favourite blues numbers.

Paul frequents open stages in the city, while occasionally performing at pubs and coffee shops. All performances will be sent through his email list or can be found on his social media.
